Chinese handset maker Vivo on Friday unveiled "Vivo V9 Youth" - a customised variant of the Vivo V9 flagship smartphone for the youth. On the design front, the Vivo V9 Youth looks exactly similar to Vivo V9. Priced at INR 18,990, V9 Youth will be available in black and gold colours across all offline stores from 20 April, 2018 and will also be available online on the Vivo E-store, flipkart.com, amazon.in and paytmmall.com from 24 April, 2018.

Otherwise the vivo V9 Youth offers the same 6.3-inch 1080x2280px IPS LCD with a tall-aspect 19:9 ratio and a notch to house the front-facing camera, 4GB of RAM and a 3,260mAh battery. It is powered by the Snapdragon 450 SoC with Adreno 506 GPU. For further expansion, the smartphone has a dedicated microSD card slot that will accept up to 256GB capacity microSD cards.

The device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box which is appreciable but it is heavily skinned with Vivo's own custom Funtouch OS. It comes with the updated Game Mode feature, which the company debuted with the V9.
Like the Vivo V9, this version also comes with Game Mode that allows users to block all messages, calls, and alerts during gaming sessions. The feature also lets you accept phone calls only from designated contacts. Users need to sliding down with three fingers to split the screen into two halves. Besides, the smartphone also comes with a special Gaming Keyboard which makes in-game chatting easier by not taking up the whole screen space.
