The mission served a special Easter dinner Sunday afternoon.

"I think it's wonderful because a lot of people don't have a family and don't have any place to go", she said.

We Care Meals also offers meal deliveries to the homebound.

"There's no better time than this time of year to reach out to each other", Hall said, "because Jesus gave all for us".

Two Enid churches teamed up over the weekend to help several local families overcome those obstacles, by delivering Easter baskets filled with everything the families would need for a holiday dinner. "We've been blessed with volunteers. This is the most volunteers we've ever had".

The meal included a piece of baked ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, baked beans, a dinner roll, and a cookie.

This is the second year Don Knepper has helped out at the Easter Dinner.

Deana Struble, marketing manager at Souls Harbour Rescue Mission, said the organization provides hundreds of meals a year, but it's the Easter meal that has a particularly good atmosphere of community and family.

Catholic Charities held its 37th annual dinner at the Elmira Community Kitchen.

At Community Bible Fellowship, a seat was reserved at a table for Thelma "Momma" Kolar, a longtime church member who died in March.

St. Francis said he's been coming to the church's Easter dinners for 10 years.

About 15 volunteers served ham, kielbasa, side dishes and desserts to attendees.
