After meeting with Trump, whereabouts of Nigerian President unknown
Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari and the U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday expressed their commitment to working together on economic engagement, political stability and counter-terrorism. Obasanjo said Buhari missed "another opportunity to display his mettle as a thoroughbred leader and instead undermined Nigeria's interest in at least three segments of national development".
Criticising Buhari's "foreign trips, which come at great costs and have not brought any gains to our country", the PDP regretted: "The President has continued to de-market our nation in the worldwide arena".
The presidential aide said the Nigerian president got everything he wanted from the USA government form his American counterpart during the visit, contrary to expectations of those he described as opponents of his government, in the essay he titled, "Takeaways from the Auspicious Meeting between Presidents Muhammadu Buhari and Donald Trump". The hoax has been circulating on some mushroom blogs across the Internet.
The presidential aide explained that the President had been using a smaller aircraft that had a limit on the distance it could cover, hence the decision to have a stopover in the British capital.
"That is why the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, had to respond to the letter of insults released by Mr. Obasanjo", the president said, while responding to a question about his criticism of Nigerian youth as lazy.

The explanation was offered by the President's Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu.
