Ahead of Trade Talks, China Says It Won't Submit to US 'Threats'
Chinese President Xi Jinping's top economic adviser, Vice Premier Liu He, will meet a top-level USA trade delegation in Beijing this week, the government said on Wednesday, amid a festering dispute between the world's two largest economies.
Lighthizer said the issue of intellectual property is an area of high advantage to the United States.
China, which denies it coerces such technology transfers, has threatened retaliation in equal measure, including tariffs on USA soybeans and aircraft.
Trump administration officials this week have already lowered expectations for a breakthrough, saying the trip could be cut short if it's not satisfactory and that President Donald Trump will have the final say on accepting any deals.
The Chinese have welcomed the visit, which will involve Liu He, Xi Jinping's economic advisor and vice premier, exchanging views with his U.S. counterparts on bilateral trade and various economic issues, CCTV said on Wednesday. Lighthizer, calling China "a big, big".

The US delegation to Beijing also includes Trump's top economic officials, including Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, White House trade and manufacturing adviser Peter Navarro, and top White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow.
Liu has been firm in his stance of addressing bilateral trade friction through talks.
Talks would not be accepted by China with preconditions on these or other matters, the official stated.
Lighthizer was speaking at an event in Washington on Tuesday.
