After spending five months in prison out of a 4-year sentence for probation violation, the Philly rapper is now out campaigning for reforming the justice department and politicians like Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf is listening.
It's been over a week since Meek Mill was released from prison, and the Philadelphia native is ready to tell his story through a new partnership with Amazon and Roc Nation.
Having just recently served time for violating probation - a sentence that caused an outrage among his fans and beyond - Meek is collaborating with Amazon Prime Video for a six-part documentary series that will follow his fight for exoneration while exposing flaws in the criminal justice system. The series is executive-produced by Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter and is expected to release next year.
The docu series will take viewers on a journey is Mill's 10-year battle with judge Brinkley as well and examine the disparities in the jail system and higher incarceration rates for people of color. The program will also feature Mill's original music.
