ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 goes on sale in India starting today
With the first set of pre-orders slated for today, the Zenfone Max Pro M1 gets its first major update that brings a slew of enhancements in security and camera departments inside the mid-range device. The Zenfone Max Pro offers similar hardware, but it also comes with the stock Android experience. The company has launched a new smartphone ZenFone Max Pro M1 which is a direct competition to the Redmi Note 5 Pro.
As we pointed out before, it will come in three RAM and storage variants: 3GB+32GB, 4GB+64GB and 6GB +64GB.
One of the launch offers that come with the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 is that it comes with Flipkart's "Complete Mobile Protection" which covers all possible damages - such as including screen breakage and liquid damage - at a cost of Rs 49 and is valid for a year. There is another variant that offers 4GB RAM+64GB internal storage and is priced at Rs 12,999. The 6GB RAM model will come with upgraded cameras - 16MP+5MP on the rear and 16MP selfie snapper.

Coming to the specs of the device, the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 has a 5.99-inch FHD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. Under-the-hood, there is a 1.8GHz Snapdragon 636 processor paired with Adreno 509 GPU coupled with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded via a dedicated microSD slot. For optics, the Zenfone Max Pro M1 sports a 13MP+5MP dual camera setup on the rear with 80-degree view angle, PDAF, and more.
According to YouTuber @geekyranjit, the update enables the Face Unlock feature, slightly improves the response time of the fingerprint scanner, and also improves the fluidity of the UI. The primary camera supports phase detection autofocus and comes along with a dual-LED flash. Meanwhile, the yet to be announced 6GB RAM, 64GB version of the phone will ship with a 16-megapixel front camera. In terms of software, the phone will run Android 8.1 Oreo.
