If 36 holes are not completed on Sunday, then the VOA Classic will conclude on Monday. More wet weather delayed Friday's start until 3:30 p.m. CT, allowing for only a partial round of play.

Boutier, in her second year on tour after playing for Duke, had four birdies and three bogeys on the 6,475-yard Old American Golf Club course that's hosting the event for the first time. France's Celine Boutier is the clubhouse leader with a one-under 70. Jenny Shin, who broke through for her first win in 2016 at Las Colinas Country Club, is tied with Sei Young Kim at 4 under, one shot clear of a group of four.
This will be the LPGA Tour's first 36-hole event since the Bahamas-LPGA Classic in May 2013, which encountered flooding. Round two will start on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
"So it's been a challenging week for everybody, but we ultimately ended up with where we thought would be the fairest for the competition, for all players considered", said Marty Robinson, LPGA director of rules and site development.

The shot of Friday belonged to Emily Pedersen, who played 17 holes and is 2-under. Pedersen said the course played "a lot different from the practice rounds". "It was a great way to start because honestly I was a little bit exhausted and that got me going and motivated".
