Davenport Preparing for Expected Floods

The National Weather Service has issued flood warnings to begin Saturday in Hannibal, Sunday in Louisiana and Clarksville, Monday in Canton and Tuesday in Quincy. Low-lying areas along the rivers' banks may be flooded, so avoid these spots and pay attention to any posted information from local officials.

Heavy rain combined with snowmelt is also causing the Mississippi River in Dubuque to rise.

The river stood at 19.62 feet at 6:30 a.m. today, according to the weather service.

The Mississippi River near Dubuque is in the moderate flood stage at 19.49 feet and will crest on Tuesday at 20.2 feet. It's expected to continue to slowly rise until Sunday afternoon.
