If you own Battlefield 1 but didn't quite get around to buying its first paid DLC then you're in luck.
You can get a digital copy of the downloadable content pack for Battlefield 1 whether you're playing on Origin for PC, or through the Xbox One, or on the PlayStation 4. The DLC will return to its normal $15 price in a couple of weeks, so if there's a chance that you'll return to the game in the future, be sure to download The Shall Not Pass while it's free.
This isn't some free weekend trial sort of thing.
On the upside, if you download the DLC within the next four days - from now up until May 16th - you will be able to keep the DLC in your library no matter what platform you get it for.

A total of four DLC expansions were released for Battlefield 1 and the idea with offering the first one for free would certainly be to entice players to spend money on the remaining expansions.
Three additional expansions are available for Battlefield 1, though they're not now free.
IGN is reporting that the "They Shall Not Pass" DLC is available right now for free.
