A massive storm has erupted over allegations of fake voter IDs in Karnataka, ahead of polls. The seat had been won by Congress candidate Munirathna Naidu in 2013 with a 37 percent share vote.

The BJP alleged that the apartment was connected to a Congress lawmaker, while the Congress claimed that the apartment was connected to the BJP and that the BJP was enacting a "midnight drama" by planting "fake evidence" to attract attention.

Muniratna is a senior influential Congress leader from Raja Rajeshwari Nagar Constituency. She had rented it to her adopted son, who had contested the BBMP elections in 2015 and lost, he added. He also alleged that the flat was raided neither by EC nor by police but by the BJP workers.
