BJP-MLA-BN-Vijayakumar
One of the most popular MLAs of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the upcoming Karnataka elections, BN Vijayakumar, died after suffering a massive cardiac arrest during the Karnataka election campaign.
"He was shifted to government-run Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology where efforts to resuscitate him failed", state BJP join spokesman S Prakash told news agency PTI.
In a notification, the returning officer of the constituency had said that the election has been countermanded in view of the demise of the BJP candidate. He was campaigning in Pattabhiramanagar area in Jayanagar on Thursday evening when he suffered the attack.
Kumar, a two-time MLA, collapsed during campaigning on Thursday evening. Our condolences to his family. He studied civil engineering at BMS College of Engineering and it was here that he began participating in ABVP activities.

Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah also tweeted about Vijaya Kumar's death and said, "I express my condolences to his family & loved ones. Vijaya Kumar was a honest and hardworking political leader", he tweeted.
