Formula 1 has announced a proposal to host a future race in the city of Miami for the 2019 season.
Among the stakeholders is USA businessman Stephen Ross, the principal owner of the Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium.
But the Dutch report suggests Formula One - which was sold to new owners for $4.4 billion two years ago and aims to expand more into the United States - is already preparing to set up shop in South Florida next season.
The Miami Herald website reported a 10-year deal was under consideration, with the Commission due to meet on May 10 to authorise city manager Emilio Gonzalez to negotiate a contract by July 1.
"Miami's status as one of the world's most iconic and glamorous cities, combined with its robust tourism infrastructure, makes Miami the ideal destination for Formula 1 and its fans", said Sean Bratches, F1's managing director for commercial operations.
A vote in favour of hosting a leg of the Formula One World Championship would effectively make the race a formality.

The US was barred from the F1 extravaganza from 2008 until 2012. A Miami street race would be the first F1 street race in the US since 1991 in Phoenix.
Liberty Media have long desired to grow their brand in the United States and see this as the ideal opportunity.
But the Azerbaijan Grand Prix victor was keen to reiterate that his side are continuing to make improvements to their auto during this week off racing.
