A ride near Fort Lauderdale beach turned deadly Tuesday night when a four-door Tesla Model S carrying three teenagers crashed and burst into flames, according to police. Backseat passenger Alexander Berry, 18, was ejected from the auto on impact and left "seriously hurt". His condition wasn't immediately clear, but friend George Aloia told WPLG he was "pretty banged up".
Police said the gray 2014 Tesla Motors Model S may have been speeding southbound in the 1300 block of Seabreeze Boulevard when it drove off the roadway and struck a concrete wall about 6:46 p.m. Tuesday.
Seabreeze Boulevard from the 17th Street Bridge to Harbor Drive was shut down for the investigation, according to Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue.

A man who filmed the incident told the news station the vehicle became engulfed in flames, trapping the driver and passenger inside.
