Former student shot, 19, wounded after bringing gun to Dixon High

The students are being bused from The Armory to Al Morrison Baseball Field.

Parents can pick their children up at the baseball fields at Page Park; bring an ID.

According to a statement on the city's Facebook page, a Dixon police officer confronted a gunman at Dixon High School around 8 a.m. The suspect fired at the officer, who shot back, injuring the gunman. The suspect was injured and has non-life threatening injuries. The suspect is in custody and is receiving medical treatment.

No students or staff were injured, Langloss said.

Police believe he acted alone, but provided no possible motive.

Multiple police agencies responded to the scene.

SaukValley.com reports that the student is in custody with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Sauk Valley Media is reporting that the suspect is a 19-year-old former student of the school.

Dixon police could not comment or confirm if there was a shooting, all they could say is there is no public threat and no threat to students.
