Google has released its all-new version of Google News in the App Store, which comes as an update to the existing Google Play Newsstand iOS app.

One of the key highlights of the revamped Google News app is that it is powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI).

This content is restricted to site members.

The new Google News on iOS is technically same as the users get on their Android platforms. News agencies/organisations in this section all support the Google AMP standard, which means the pages will load in quick and clean fashion without bouncing you first through a mobile browser.

On opening the app, the users will find a "For You" section that has been created to provide the top five news of the moment followed by a tailor-made section that will provide longer news articles. Google says these new algorithms also help to bring breaking news through a complex combination of all the relevant stories and arrange them in an easy-to-understand format. The algorithm will also weigh things like local versus national news when deciding on what to display. The next section called "Headlines" offers a mix of latest news from sections such as India, World, Business and Sports among others. When a "Full Coverage" link appears, users can tap it and see more sources on a particular story, including prominent social media links and more.

As part of that, another feature coming soon is "Subscribe with Google, which lets publications offer subscription-based content". It works as you'd imagine, letting you mark out preferred topics, news sources and locations to filter your reads.

Finally, the Newsstand tab lets you see a magazine-like interface for specific publications, such as CNN, Fox News, The New York Times, Reuters, and more.
