HDFC securities to offer broking services on Google Home, Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa
Sources from HDFC Securities said that it will be the first broking service to offer such services- a virtual assistant service through voice based IoT devices.
Search giant Google is welcoming companies across a diverse range of fields, including startups that are developing technologies that broaden Google Assistant's set of features, or are building new hardware devices for digital assistants, or that focus on a particular industry such as travel, games, or hospitality.
With the large number of supported devices, Google Assistant can now be used to control many functions typical in a home, including adjusting the lights, turning on the TV, setting a security alarm, adjusting the temperature, accessing security camera feeds, and more. Under entertainment, Google is working with Dish to integrate its Hopper receivers with the Assistant, so users will be able to say things like "Hey Google, switch to ESPN" through either their phones or a Google Home device.

HDFC Securities Ltd, the financial services intermediary of private lender HDFC Bank, has integrated a new voice-based assistant, Arya, into Google Home and Amazon Echo to offer a self-serving digital service to its customers. Ironically, that round also included participation from Google's main voice assistant rival Amazon through the $100 million Alexa Fund and Bezos Expeditions (Jeff Bezos' investment arm). "The new, simplified voice commands will let you go directly to your favorite channels, control volume, or pause a show", Google said. The best part is, more devices are to be added soon.
More than 30,000 developers worldwide have designed their voice assistant applications using "Botsociety".
Today, Michele Turner, a Google smart home ecosystem director, announced that the Google Assistant can now connect with more than 5,000 different smart home devices, up from just 1,500 devices at the beginning of the year. Other partnerships which will come in to effect in the coming months include ones with ADT, First Alert, Schlage, Panasonic, Ikea, Hunter Douglas, and Hisense. Seattle startup Pulse Labs is one of four companies to participate in Google's new Google Assistant investment program.
