World Bank refutes money laundering to India
A statement by NAB, who ordered the inquiry based on a media report, claims that the amount was laundered to the Indian finance ministry after which Indian foreign exchange reserves witnessed an increase and Pakistan suffered as a result, reported Pakistan's Geo News.
According to the media report, this incident is mentioned in the World Bank's Migration and Remittance Book 2016, the release said.However, details of the media report in question have not been mentioned in the brief statement issued in Urdu, Geo Tv reported. The premier in his tirade alleged that the institution has overstepped its domain.
Earlier today, the accountability court sought more time from the top court to end the trial on references filed by the NAB against members of the Sharif family.
This is supposed to be the second deadline extension after the Supreme Court had given only 6 months for the Accountability Court to reach a verdict in the corruption cases against Nawaz Sharif and the Sharif Family.
The sources said those who met Mr Sharif at the Punjab House separately included Special Assistant to the PM on Law Barrister Zafarullah Khan, former law minister Zahid Hamid, Federal Minister for Information Technology Anusha Rehman, Punjab Governor Rafiq Rajwana, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed and Senator Pervez Rashid.

In the World Bank report, there is no mention about any kind of money laundering and also does not name any individual in it. "These media reports were incorrect", the World Bank stated in its statement. "Pakistanis in India and Russians in Ukraine became migrants following partition of the original country".
