J.R. Smith’s ‘dirty’ antics makes him perfect Cavaliers’ scapegoat

LeBron James going off for 40-plus and a triple-double. It was a good, hard foul.

The Celtics' Marcus Smart described J.R. Smith as "like a bully" after the Cavaliers guard's flagrant foul on Al Horford in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals Tuesday.

Marcus Smart was not happy about the move from Smith and came over to confront him.

The league could review the play and upgrade it to a flagrant two. Predictably, Smart was celebrated by the Celtics crowd while Smith was met with some colorful language by Boston supporters.

No one symbolized the Cavs' collapse like J.R. Smith.

It came through loud and clear on the television broadcast, forcing the ESPN crew of Mike Breen, Jeff Van Gundy Mark Jackson to acknowledge what was being transmitted to millions watching around the country. Some Celtics could be seen flashing smiles on their side of the court, but not Smart.

Officials called a flagrant-1 on Smith, and Smart got in his face.

The 32-year-old Smith is a 14-year National Basketball Association veteran, so he was unfazed by the whole ordeal. "I don't want the opposing fans to like me".

Neymar: 'I'm more scared than anyone'
I think it's one of the most hard I've ever had, because I'm very close to a dream I have, which is the World Cup. Brazil are aiming to add a sixth star on their shirts.

"I felt like it was uncalled for, that type of play there", Horford said. "You know, I just looked at it, Al is a defenceless person".

Even after the game, which the Celtics won 107-94, Smart remained less amused by the whole ordeal.

Needless to say, it was an extremely ill-advised decision by Smith, not to mention a unsafe play and a selfish play at that.

We here at The Loop/Golf Digest love J.R. Smith. We know he can make shots, but just communication defensive-wise."Smith explained: "We were slow on our coverages".

"You just can't allow that to keep happening", he said. "One of my guys was down and I took offence to it".

Smart's not wrong about the history. In the 2015 playoffs, Smith's back-hand swing concussed Jae Crowder in the fourth game of Cleveland's sweep.

Game 3 will be played Saturday night in Cleveland. "We're backed in that approach - guys being there for each other, standing up for each other".
