Kuala Lumpur-Singapore ranked busiest international flight route
The ranking by industry consultancy OAG is based on the number of flights between two cities in the 12 months to the end of February 2018. KLM and British Airways, which operate services between the two airports, carried 1,860,287 passengers on the 365-km route in the time frame.
The Singapore-KL connection topped OAG's busiest worldwide routes rankings with 30,537 flights, compared with 28,887 flights for Hong Kong-Taipei and 23,704 flights for Singapore-Jakarta.
"These airline routes are among the most competitive in the world".
On the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore route, the most punctual carrier was Scoot and the least punctual, Malaysia Airlines, said OAG.
The only long-haul route to crack the top 20 list is New York JFK to London Heathrow, which sees an average of 38 daily flights. The combined OTP of all carriers serving the route from LGA to YYZ is 51 percent - a low average, likely resulting from a combination of the tough winter climates in NY and Toronto, and the combined congestion at the two airports.

In the latest report from air intelligence company OAG, analysts broke down the busiest highways in the skies revealing that once again, the world's heaviest air traffic is located above Asian countries: 14 of the top 20 routes connect Hong Kong, Singapore, and Osaka to other parts of Asia. Cancelations are also included.
