Missouri lawmakers to call special session for impeachment proceedings against Greitens

It comes as Greitens is facing two felony charges - one related to a 2015 extramarital affair and the other to using a charity donor list for his political campaign.

In an interview with the committee, Spencer Kympton, chief partnerships officer for The Mission Continues, characterized Greitens' use of the list for political purposes as "a misuse, as far as The Mission Continues is concerned".

The report released Wednesday by a House investigatory committee says Greitens signed an agreement in 2012 not to disclose confidential information about donors to The Mission Continues.

Laub said of the amended report that the "whole document made (him) sick ... because it was misrepresented (and) because (he) was in a round of news stories falsely portraying what happened".

But the report says Greitens later used that list to raise money for his gubernatorial campaign. At the time Laub agreed and Greitens signed a statement in a settlement with the Missouri Ethics Commission affirming Laub's role.

A former campaign aide to Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens testified that he was duped into taking the fall when the governor's campaign was trying to explain how it had gotten a list of top donors to a veterans' charity that Greitens had founded, according to legislative report released Wednesday. But a roster of Missouri Republican leaders have recently called for the governor to resign, including Hawley, US Rep. Ann Wagner and Missouri House Speaker Todd Richardson.

He is accused of taking and transmitting a partially nude and unauthorized photo of the woman while she was bound and blindfolded in the basement of his home.

The Missouri Legislature has called itself into a special session to consider impeaching Gov. Eric Greitens following allegations of sexual misconduct and misuse of charity resources.

Greitens' trial for his first felony charge is set to begin May 14, likely before the start of a special session in the statehouse. The woman told the same House committee in an earlier report that Greitens was so sexually aggressive that she was sometimes left afraid and crying.

When Meredith Gibbons was hired as Greitens' campaign finance director, documents show that Proctor sent her an April 22, 2015, email with The Mission Continues donor list attached - a transmission that was the basis for the charge filed last month.

Greitens denies wrongdoing in both cases, calling himself a victim of a "political witch hunt".
