What You Need to Know About the Massive Egg Recall

The CDC announced about a month ago that almost 206 million eggs that were potentially contaminated with salmonella were distributed to restaurants and grocery stores in Colorado, Florida, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Rose Acre Farms has 17 facilities in eight states, The Washington Post reported.

The update also explains that more cases could be on the way.

At least 11 people have been hospitalized due to complications, but no deaths have been reported, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced Friday.

The Indianapolis Star reported the egg recall is one of the largest to occur since 2010, when 500 million eggs were recalled from an Iowa producer amid almost 2,000 reported illnesses linked to salmonella.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has linked the outbreak to eggs from Rose Acre Farms and its production facility in Hyde County, North Carolina, which led to a voluntary recall of 206 million eggs.

South Korea Unification minister vouches for denuclearization
He did not say whether the women might be returned to North Korea if it is confirmed they were in the South against their will. As well as serving North Korean food, restaurant workers often dance in traditional costume and sing North Korean songs.

The eggs were sold at several grocery stores, including Coburn Farms, Country Daybreak, Crystal Farms, Food Lion, Glenview, Great Value, Nelms, Publix, Sunshine Farms, and Sunups.

The egg recall is the largest in the United States since 2010, when 500 million eggs from an Iowa producer were recalled, and almost 2,000 illnesses caused by salmonella were reported.

Affected packages are stamped with the plant number P-1065 and Lot Codes 011 - 102. These eggs were repackaged and sold under multiple brand names, including Publix and Sunups.

You should throw them away or return them for a refund, the CDC said. Twenty-two of 25 people interviewed reported eating shell eggs. "These restaurants reported using shell eggs in the dishes eaten by ill people". When the agency's health inspectors did a site visit in March, they reportedly found over a dozen rodents crawling around, and also saw employees handle dirty equipment and touch their bodies without washing their hands afterward.

There has been one reported salmonella case in New Jersey.
