Ambassador Han made the announcement during the Conference on Disarmament, but notably did not specifically mention the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT), which is the treaty being worked on to ban all weapons testing.

Han Tae-song, North Korea's ambassador to Switzerland, made the remarks at a United Nations disarmament conference in Geneva on Tuesday ahead of a historic nuclear summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un next month.

Punggye-ri, in the north-east of the country, has been the site of all six of the North's nuclear tests, the latest and by far the most powerful in September a year ago, which Pyongyang said was an H-bomb.

Barcelona midfielder Busquets: No positives from Levante defeat
Of course, we wanted to win the league first of all and after we did that we wanted to end the season unbeaten". Barcelona may never get a better chance of completing a full La Liga season unbeaten, says Terry Gibson.

Some observers believe that Han's remark suggests that the North offered to be part of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) ahead of its summit with the US slated for next month.

It marks the first time for the reclusive state to express willingness to be part of the global community's efforts to ban comprehensive nuclear tests. It was signed by 183 countries and among them, 166 ratified the deal. North Korea is one of three Annex 2 states that are non-signatories to the CTBT, along with India and Pakistan.
