New Honda Amaze set for launch today

The 2018 Honda Amaze is launched in India and will be available in 12 trim for the Indian market among which six are the petrol variants which range between Rs 5.59 Lakh to Rs 7.57 Lakh (ex-showroom), while the diesel lineup is priced between Rs 6.69 Lakh to Rs 8.67 (ex-showroom). India, a key market for Honda globally, is the first country to launch the all-new Amaze, he said. Moreover, the prices for the new Amaze will remain uniform across the country.

In it's first generation, the Amaze was built on Honda's small vehicle Brio platform. The five diesel variants excluding the top variant mentioned above are S CVT, VX MT, V MT, S MT, and E MT which are priced at Rs 8.39 lakh, 8.67 lakh, 8.19 lakh, 7.59 lakh and 6.69 lakh respective. The dimension of the vehicle has changed to 3,995 mm in length and 1,695 mm wide as compared to 3,990 mm Length and 1,680 mm width seen on the 2017 Amaze. The company claims that the auto now provides a better cabin space along with a best-in-class boot capacity of 420-litre (20-litre more than before).

The new Amaze adopts Honda's new design language, and therefore features a wide chrome grille up front that's fitted above a honeycomb mesh. Moving to the rear, the new Amaze features an angular design with C-shaped tail lamps and a shark fin antenna. To be based on the new platform, the all-new Amaze sedan now sports all-new exterior front along with updated interiors while the engines remains untouched.

Along with a new instrument cluster and steering wheel, the new Amaze also gets the Digipad 2.0 infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen on the centre console in the top-spec trims. The petrol version will be the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine motor churns out 87bhp of peak power and 110Nm of peak torque and a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine that belts out 99bhp of peak power and 200Nm of peak torque, the diesel CVT will develop a power figure of 79bhp with 160Nm.

Inside of the vehicle has also improved with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with both Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The 1.5-litre diesel engine for the Amaze offers 98.6 bhp and 200 Nm with a 5-speed manual transmission. The diesel CVT has a slightly lower output compared to the manual version. Safety features like Dual front SRS airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and Brake Assist, along with reverse parking sensors are standard on all the variants of the new Amaze. For your convenience, the vehicle has got a start-stop button and automatic climate control. The new Amaze is available in 5 colour options - Radiant Red, Orchid White Pearl, Modern Steel, Golden Metallic Brown and Lunar Silver.
