North Korea says US ruining mood of detente before nuclear talks
Last month, Seoul and Pyongyang held a summit at the southern side of the border village, where South and North Korean soldiers stand face-to-face across the Military Demarcation Line (MDL) which has divided the two Koreas since 1953. But the official acknowledged that Trump has publicly expressed frustrations at the cost and size of the USA presence there, and said the issue would have to be addressed eventually. Kim said that although "the nuclear button is on my office desk all the time", and his missiles could target all of America, he now wanted to stress "the building of a prosperous country" and a diplomatic outreach to South Korea.
Before Mr Trump meets Kim, Washington is hoping to gain the release of three Korean-Americans accused of anti-state activities.
What can weigh heavily on these positive notes is the position of the USA, when President Trump will hold a summit with the North Korean leader.
"It may also be that they have conducted enough nuclear tests, enough missile tests, that they're pretty confident with their capabilities", he said, commenting on North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's recent willingness to discuss denuclearization with the USA and South Korean leaders. And that a nuclear-free zone is established on the Korean peninsula.
Trump is slated to visit the United Kingdom in July.
He slammed the United States for saying that it would not ease the sanctions and pressure until North Korea gives up its nuclear weapons completely.

Leaving Seoul is meant to reduce friction between US troops and Koreans in the country's biggest city, while pulling back from the demilitarized zone is intended to get large number of USA troops out of range of North Korean artillery. Some 28,500 US forces are based there, a military presence that has been preserved since the Korean War ended in 1953 without a peace treaty.
