The study was commissioned by YouGov as Mental Health Awareness week was launched, which has been run by the Mental Health Foundation for the past 18 years.

Martin Bauman, spokesperson for Canadian Mental Health Association Waterloo Wellington, says this week is a chance for CMHA WW to get out in the community and raise awareness.

Elsewhere, the charity's art and running groups at Fareham Wellbeing Centre will be scattering decorative stones with messages of hope and support across their area.

"We're hearing more frequently in the news about the impact that stress and mental health problems are having on our young people, especially as exam season approaches and pressure levels reach their peak".

The historical broadcasting first will go out on air simultaneously on May 15th at 10.59am, and will feature globally famous voices talking about the stigma of mental health. Their Aviva Wellbeing report they looked at 4,205 Britons.

Ride Don't Hide is happening on June 24th in St. Clements and the event gives people a chance to meet one another who have gone through similar situations and lets them know they're not in this alone.

Helen Benson, Yorkshire co-ordinator of farming charity The Farming Community Network, said ill mental health in agriculture is caused by a combination of issues, including loneliness. Isabella Goldie, director of the Mental Health Foundation thinktank added that women remain the worst affected.

More than 4,600 United Kingdom adults took part in the survey, three out of four of whom said they have felt overwhelmed or unable to cope in the past year because of stress. This report showed 32 percent with suicidal feelings due to excessive stress. Self harm was also noted among 18 percent women compared to 13 percent men (average 16 percent).

It found 81 per cent have felt overwhelmed and unable to cope in the past year, compared with 67 per cent of men.

"It is therefore an obvious choice for us all to come together to talk about the things that matter most in our lives".
