UK TV personality Piers Morgan didn't hold back when he interviewed Meghan Markle's half-sister Samantha Grant on Good Morning Britain today, accusing her of playing the victim and saying she has treated her sister "in a shabby way".

But the half-sister of Meghan Markle appeared for a Skype interview with the British host and got more than she expected.

The health concerns - along with a staged photo scandal that made headlines around the world - saw Meghan's dad pull out of the wedding, and walking his daughter down the aisle.

Samantha Markle stood her ground to say that she was only being protective of her father who had been picked on by the media.

Thomas, 72, has pulled out of attending the royal wedding after being accused of staging paparazzi shots worth £100,000.

After defending her father from the "media vultures", Piers then went for the kill: 'There's no bigger media vulture with this wedding than you, is there, Miss Markle?

His guest explained that her family, particularly her father Thomas, has been "suffering" at the hands of the media.

Ms Markle has made something of a cottage industry out of talking about her estranged sibling who, she admits, she hasn't seen since 2010 and has had one conversation with since then.

'Many of our viewers, I think, may have watched your activities over the last year-and-a-half and think you have treated your sister, Meghan, in a very shabby way - that may be of course why you're not invited to the wedding'.

He continued, reminding Markle that she had publicly called her sister names in the press, courting the attention.

Apart from a book she has been flogging with the title The Diary of Princes Pushy's Sister she has spent most of the last two years wheeling herself out to provide commentary on Meghan Markle and her curious family.

However, it was clear that Piers wasn't having any of it and he wasn't impressed with her or her dad and he said: "It seems to me that her father, your father, has let her down".

But Morgan did not back down and said it was the Markle family who was disappointing Meghan.

"There have been examples in history of how risky that can be", she added, in what seemed like an allusion to Princess Diana's fatal 1997 auto crash.
