Elections due soon in Zimbabwe will be "nail-biting" now that a number of top allies of President Emmerson Mnangagwa have lost the right to contest parliamentary seats, the Daily News is reporting. "This manifesto will guide us and the next government, and the launch marks the beginning of honest, people-centred hard work - and is not an end in itself, but the start of delivering to the expectation of our people, both in and outside of Zimbabwe".

Most of the party members who turned up were donning the "ED scarf" depicting the national flag.

Bishop Mutendi said the Zanu PF manifesto should be a product of the people for it to be acceptable adding that the launch should be totally different from what has gone before. "It is a definer of the future of the country", Mnangagwa said during the launch in Harare.
