A Moscow district court has sanctioned a 30-day administrative arrest of opposition activist and blogger Alexei Navalny on charges of recurrent organization of unauthorized rally in central Moscow on May 5, a TASS correspondent reported from the Tverskoi district court on Tuesday.

The court heard testimony from one of the police officers who detained Navalny who said the group of 15 police had been authorised to use physical force. "Therefore, the term on both rulings begins on the same day, today", it said.

Navalny also faces separate charges of disobeying police orders during his arrest on May 5.
