Saints sign former Ohio State star quarterback JT Barrett to three-year deal
Former Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett won't attend the Saints rookie minicamp on a tryout basis, after all.Instead, the former Buckeye signal caller will attend the minicamp as a bona fide member of the team. The Saints are signing Barrett as an undrafted free agent, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported. Had an invite to try out for the Colts and had interest from other teams.
Barrett worked out with New Orleans on Monday and will now join 39-year-old starting quarterback Drew Brees as well as backups Tom Savage and Tayson Hill.
Hill may have the upper hand on Barrett if New Orleans decides to keep three quarterbacks, since he was with the Saints last season and contributed down the stretch on special teams.

Things to Watch For in North Korea's Peace Negotiations
Mr Trump has previously said the meeting with Kim Jong Un will be held by the end of May or early June. And hearteningly, it was Kim who had the clearest view at last week's summit.
Barrett was one of dozens of players expected to take part in the Saints rookie minicamp scheduled for two weeks after the draft.
Barrett has a strong college resume, however, with several career Big Ten records to his credit, including most passing touchdowns (104), most total touchdowns (147) and most total offensive yards (12,697).
This side of Tony Romo, you'd be hard-pressed to find a starting quarterback with any staying power in recent National Football League history who was an undrafted free agent. And it will only cost them a non-guaranteed contract to get a look at Barrett, rather than a contract slotted to a first-round pick and the multiple draft picks it cost to move up nearly half of the first round.
