The overall pass percentage in 2017 was 92.1%.

As the results for Class 12 were declared on Wednesday, girls in Tamil Nadu faired better than the boys, with pass percentage of girls being 94.1 percent in comparison to boys whose pass percentage was 87.7 percent. A huge number of candidates have appeared in this examination and gave this exam successfully at pre defined exam centres.
