North Korea will move its clocks 30 minutes forward to unify with the South's time zone starting this Saturday as a conciliatory gesture after last week's inter-Korean summit, the North's official news agency said.

It was the third summit between the two Koreas following meetings between Kim's late father Kim Jong Il and late South Korean presidents Kim Dae-Jung and Roh Moo-Hyun, in 2000 and 2007 respectively. This would make Trump the first sitting USA president to meet a North Korean leader.

Among the possible venues cited in the media were Switzerland, Singapore, Mongolia, Sweden and the U.S. territory of Guam.

White House officials have been discussing sites as far-flung as Singapore and Mongolia for the planned meeting between Trump and Kim.

A survey taken on Friday by Realmeter showing 64.7 percent believe the North will denuclearise and keep peace on the Korean peninsula.

Last week the leaders of North and South Korea met and pledged to end hostilities and work toward the "complete denuclearisation" of the Korean peninsula, seeming to increase the likelihood of the Trump-Kim summit.

Given the typically hostile responses to Trump's tweets, did he really expect to get an insightful response to his open question?

But North Korean leader Kim Jong Un promised to change the time zone back during the historic summit with South Korean President Moon Jae-in, KCNA reported Monday. "The only thing we need is peace", according to the South's presidential office. "We're going to require those steps that demonstrate that denuclearization is going to be achieved". That offers cause for hope that for all the remaining challenges, a comprehensive peace deal including real denuclearization by North Korea is achievable in a couple of years, if not in the months ahead.
