Twelve South Intros AirFly Bluetooth to 3.5mm for AirPods

However, in reality AirFly works with any wireless Bluetooth headphones, and can pull audio from anything with a 3.5mm audio output jack. Audio quality from AirFly is pretty much what we expected from a Bluetooth device, although it's worth noting that AirFly actually does support aptX, but not AAC, so you'll actually stand to get better audio quality with third-party Bluetooth headphones than you will with Apple's AirPods. Twelve South promises eight hours of battery life on a single charge.

AirFly is created to be used with in-flight entertainment systems, as its name suggests, but it'll work with any device that uses a headphone jack - including your PC or laptop, stereo system, a handheld console, the treadmill in the gym, and even your TV.

This isn't the only device of its kind that we've seen. These can be nice, but they don't offer the same compact and easily portable package as the AirFly, and they're also on the pricey side.

Fitness clubs and flights are frequently referred to as when you'd want to use the AirFly, and Apple's AirPods are shown prominently on the product page.

AirFly retails for $39.99 Dollars and is available from Amazon.com and Twelve South's website.

We'll be testing AirFly ourselves and will let you know how it performs. If you're having trouble getting your AirPods to pair, take a look at our guide showing how to fix the most common AirPods problems.
