Report Clippers send Austin Rivers to Wizards for Gortat

The Washington Wizards made their first big move of the offseason Tuesday night by trading longtime starting center Marcin Gortat to the Los Angeles Clippers for guard Austin Rivers.

Rivers played three-plus seasons for his father, Doc Rivers, with the Clippers. The No. 10 pick in the 2012 draft, Rivers has career averages of 9.4 points on 41.9 percent shooting, 2.4 assists and 2.0 rebounds. Lawrence Frank is the Clippers' president of basketball operations, with Michael Winger the general manager. He's been in Los Angeles since the 2014-2015 season.

Yet Rivers is still young (he's only 25) and will be a capable backup for John Wall in Washington.

Fallon to Trump: ‘You’re the president! Why are you tweeting at me?’
Following the publication of the interview, Trump took to Twitter to slam the talk show host, telling him to "be a man". Shimkus and the Fox co-hosts condemned Fallon's charity gesture as more "divisiveness", more "Trump-hate".

Gortat started at least 80 games in four of his five seasons with the Wizards.

The deal gives the Clippers some insurance in the event center DeAndre Jordan declines his $24 million player option for next season before Friday's deadline.

Gortat, who's been with Washington since the 2013-2014 season, averaged 8.4 points and 7.6 rebounds per game last season. Doc has since lost some of his power, and Jerry West and Lawrence Frank are now in control - and free to trade Austin Rivers.
