Ventura County Sheriff's deputies and paramedics responded to the actress' home to treat her for a possible overdose, a source told the magazine.

This all came hours after she posted $20,000 bail after being arrested for attacking a police officer and an EMT the night before.

Locklear appeared extremely intoxicated when deputies arrived at her Southern California home at about 11 p.m. Sunday to investigate a dispute between Locklear and either family members or friends, Ventura County Sheriff's Capt. Garo Kuredjian said. The 56-year-old is reportedly getting the treatment she needs.

She was involuntarily hospitalised on June 17 after threatening to kill herself. Heather Locklear punched a police officer in the stomach and kicked an EMT who was trying to get her on a gurney.

The pair began dating in real life in 2007 after playing onscreen love interests on Melrose Place, before ultimately splitting in 2011. In 2008, she was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of prescription drugs. However, those charges were later dismissed and she was instead sentenced to three years of informal probation and ordered to pay a $700 fine.

A hearing court hearing in the case is set for August 23.
