James Wan Producing Arachnophobia Remake

Wan is now finishing up Aquaman for Warner Bros and DC, but has extensive horror experience, from directing the first Saw movie (producing the others) through to Insidious and The Conjuring.

The big screen master of horror James Wan (The Conjuring universe, Saw franchise, The Tommyknockers) is producing an Arachnophobia remake, based on the 1990 horror comedy film directed by Frank Marshall, Deadline has confirmed. As of now the film does not have a director, actor or even writers. And it would appear that Wan himself will not be directing either. Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment, who was behind the original film, will also be involved. The film was about a newly discovered Venezuelan spider that made it back to the United States via a casket and caused havoc in a small town after it began producing a new species of deadly drone spiders that began killing the town residents. The spiders from Arachnophobia, apparently, according to the movie's tagline.
