The Australian soccer team has not fared well in the World Cup so far.

In fact, recently, in Canberra, Australia, a kangaroo tried to get some action on a soccer field by intruding a football match.

Displaying his pace and agility, a plucky kangaroo forced an Australian soccer match to be delayed for nearly 20 minutes after he invaded the pitch and camped out in the goalmouth. It hung around for the next half hour or so, delaying the second half for about 20 minutes and continuing to interrupt play once it started.

"It was just a real menace", Capital official Amber Harvey told The News Tribune.

While sightings of kangaroos in Canberra are far from rare, Gibbs said it was unusual for the animal to find its way onto an enclosed oval and made it even more hard to remove it. It stood up pretty tall. I think it was just over 6 feet, so they backed off pretty quickly. "But I don't think anyone was alarmed too much by it". Video showed it apparently using its long hind legs and powerful tail to deflect balls from the goal area.

Although the match was played in the exclusive inner suburb of Deakin, kangaroos can be found nearly anywhere in Canberra, the national capital.

It was then shepherded out of the stadium safely by the Belconnen coach in his vehicle.

The suburbs are set in large tracts of woods and grassland.
