Soyuz MS-07 Spacecraft With 54/55 Expedition Crew Undocks From ISS

A Russian Soyuz space capsule carrying three astronauts from the International Space Station has landed safely in the steppes of Kazakhstan.

NASA's Scott Tingle, Russian cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov, and Norishige Kanai of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), left the International Space Station (ISS) and headed to Earth just after 11am United Kingdom time.

Shkaplerov was travelling back to Moscow, reportedly with a football that might be used in the World Cup later this month. "We are glad the weather is sunny", said Shkaplerov in footage broadcast from the landing site. There they will undergo a longer medical exam and then be flown either to Moscow or Houston.

Earlier footage from the ISS showed Shkaplerov and a fellow cosmonaut practising with the ball. News agency Tass reported that it was to be used in the opening game, although this has not been confirmed by worldwide football federation Fifa. He has helped to raised awareness of the ISS in Japan by tweeting in the Japanese language during his time in space. Tingle also completed a spacewalk to mend the station's robotic arm.

Timo Werner drops huge hint over RB Leipzig future
This continued the striker's fine form from the season before where his 21 goals pushed Leipzig to second in their first ever Bundesliga season, qualifying for the Champions League.

The US space agency NASA says that astronauts can grow up to three percent taller in space but return to their normal height when back on Earth. They have been substituted by Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev and NASA astronauts Ricky Arnold and Andrew Feustel.

Their Soyuz spacecraft undocked and travelled away from the ISS for a couple of hours, before igniting its engines which took it out of Earth's orbit. Another three astronauts are to be launched to the space station on Wednesday from the Baikonur complex in Kazakhstan.

Space research has been one of the few areas of global cooperation between Russian Federation and the West that has not been wrecked by the Ukraine crisis.
