Trump Lashes Out at Trudeau Again: ‘Justin Acts Hurt When Called Out!’

Speaking to CNN today, Trump adviser Larry Kudlow says he personally negotiated with Trudeau during the two-day G7 summit in Quebec's Charlevoix region and insists the United States agreed to the language in the communique in good faith.

Trump also called Trudeau "dishonest and weak", an insult Navarro repeated in his appearance Sunday.

Mr Trump said the move was based on Mr Trudeau's "false statements. and the fact that Canada is charging massive tariffs to our USA farmers, workers and companies".

"To be honest with you, Prime Minister Trudeau, I respect".

Other G7 partners also seemed stunned by Mr Trump's reaction, and pledged to support the communique.

In the week leading up to the the G-7 Summit President Trump engaged in the most Trumpian sort of diplomacy: he very publicly attacked out closest allies. "We don't think that that is a useful or productive way to do business".

German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said Mr Trump's announcement on Twitter had destroyed trust and Europe's answer must be to stick even closer together.

White House trade adviser Peter Navarro lit into Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Sunday, saying there's a "special place in hell" for a world leader that double crosses U.S. President Donald Trump.

In recent weeks, trading partners of the U.S. have criticised new tariffs on steel and aluminium imports imposed by the Trump administration.

"Just another #G7 where other countries expect America will always be their bank", Mr Bolton wrote as Mr Trump's plane stopped for refuelling at Souda Bay on the Greek island of Crete.

Trump swiftly responded to Trudeau by upending the communiqué in a series of tweets Saturday evening. "The prime minister said nothing he hasn't said before - both in public, and in private conversations with the president".

The Twisted Timeline of Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un
However, the South Carolina Republican noted that he is "not here to spread democracy" or to unite the North with South Korea. The US wants North Korea to give up its nuclear weapons but it is not clear what Pyongyang might want in return.

Trudeau "really kinda stabbed us in the back", top U.S. economic advisor Larry Kudlow said on CNN's "State of the Union".

"He held a press conference and he said the USA is insulting".

On June 1, the United States imposed a 25 per cent tariff for steel and 10 per cent for aluminium on imports from the European Union (EU), Canada, and Mexico.

Kudlow, in a separate TV appearance, said Trudeau was "polarizing" and "really kind of stabbed us in the back". However, the USA was still way ahead of the others, donating 3.57 percent of its GDP, while European countries paid up 1.46 of GDP on average, with Canada lagging behind at 1.29 percent. He complained that he had been blindsided by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's criticism of his tariff threats at a summit-ending news conference.

Trump, who seemingly made a decision to pour out his grievances with the rest of the Western world at once, then lashed out at "these same countries that rip us off on Trade" for their unwillingness to stump up their fair share for North Atlantic Treaty Organisation.

The result was a slow-rolling collapse of the fragile alliances at the summit.

"He sulked his way through the first part of the meeting, gave his delegation the OK to sign the summit's pallid final communiqué, then threw a hissy fit and tore it up", the Toronto Star said.

"If they retaliate, they're making a mistake", Mr. Trump said.

Reacting to Mr Trump's tweets, Mr Trudeau's office said: "We are focused on everything we accomplished here at the summit".

And Roland Paris, a former foreign policy adviser to Trudeau, jabbed Mr. Trump on Twitter: "Big tough guy once he's back on his airplane".
