Ubisoft has showcased Assasin's Creed Odyssey during their E3 2018 press conference highlighting the game's world, story and more that players can expect to see in the game when it heads to consoles.

Following a leak on Sunday, we now know that the game is indeed set in ancient Greece and based on the screenshots, Forbes writer Erik Kain appears to have narrowed down the exact time the game is set.

Ubisoft goes even further, claiming this will be "your" Odyssey -- the evidence for which is players having a choice of male or female avatars, Alexios or Cassandra. Certain NPCs can also be romanced or befriended depending on what you say.

Theresa May calls on Trump to honour G7 commitments
Shortly after that statement was published online, Trump complained about comments made by Trudeau and revoked his support. There is more to leadership than hosting a meeting and posing for a smiling selfie.

Like the past several games in the series, you'll control boats and horses on your journey of assassination and discovery.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey launches for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on 5th October 2018, and you can take a first proper look at the game in the trailers below. Expect Last of Us 2, Spider-Man and of course more from Hideo Kojima's perplexing Death Stranding. If you liked the naval gameplay on that game then you will like this one as well. Just as we got to meet Julius Caesar and Cleopatra in Origins, your character will meet some prominent Greek figures in Odyssey such as Socrates.

Since Greece is a collection of islands with lots of water to explore in the middle, it makes sense that sailing your own ship is core to Odyssey. This time, you'll be on the Aegean Sea with your ship at times, and able to interact with Spartans, Athenians, pirates, and mercenaries on the sea. AC Origins had a few instances of seafaring battles, but Odyssey is treading deeper waters.
