George Clooney reportedly injured in vehicle accident in Sardinia

George Clooney is interviewed at the premiere for "Suburbicon" in Los Angeles, California last October.

George Clooney was reportedly involved in a motorbike accident on an Italian island Tuesday.

The famous actor was taken to an emergency room in nearby Olbia, however, his injuries are said not to be serious.

A picture from La Nuova suggests that Clooney hit a auto while on the motorway.

He was joined by wife Amal Clooney and it has been reported that the pair left the hospital together in a private auto.

Clooney relocated his family to Sardinia, the second largest Island in the Mediterranean Sea, so he could film TV miniseries Catch 22, according to The Sun.

Mr Clooney has been in Sardinia for several weeks for filming of a six-part series based on Heller's 1961 novel about the USAAF during the Second World War.

It was announced in April that the multi-talented star was reducing his role in the Hulu production so he could concentrate on his directing and producing credits.

Italy is an important place for Amal and George.

Despite "really liking him" even before their romantic dinner, the beauty admitted she never held out much hope.
