Hip-Hop Reacts To Demi Lovato’s Reported Hospitalisation For Alleged Drug Overdose

A new act has been added to Thursday's Atlantic City beach concert bill after pop star Demi Lovato was hospitalized after an apparent overdose yesterday.

After her reported drug overdose, a string of stars - including Ariana Grande, Ellen DeGeneres and Nick Jonas - reached out to Demi Lovato on social media to send their love and prayers.

The American singer was reportedly treated with Narcan - an emergency treatment for narcotic overdoses. The singer-actress, who entered rehab in 2010, struggled with an eating disorder, self-mutilation and other issues.

The former Disney star and her family have been open about their struggles with mental health and addiction in the past. With her mother by her side, Lovato appeared on "GMA" earlier this year and opened up about six years of sobriety. Her entire tribe has rallied around her during the tough times, Lovato said.

The Los Angeles Police Department told the Press Association they had been called out to an incident involving a 25-year-old female but were unable to confirm the patient's identity.

Her family say she is now awake in hospital.
