The Toronto police chief says that there is no evidence that the Islamic State terror group is behind a mass shooting attack in the city this week, despite claims by the group.

On Sunday 22 July, 2018, on a peaceful evening on busy Danforth Avenue in Toronto, girls aged 10 and 18 were shot and killed in an attack that terrorized this attractive Greek town neighborhood while 13 others were injured, some critically.

The statement says the Sunday evening attack in Toronto's Greektown neighborhood had been carried out in response to Islamic State's call on its followers to target citizens of countries participating in a US -led alliance fighting the radical militia. Files, being reviewed by the police, include concerns that Hussain expressed "support" for a website that was seen as "pro-ISIL", says a law enforcement source.

"At this stage of the investigation, we do not know why this has happened yet", Mr Saunders said of the shooting.

The office of Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale flatly stated there is "no national security nexus" to Hussain's attack.

"People should rely on the information that is going to be forthcoming over time, including today, from the Toronto Police Service", he said.

Many are pointing out much Toronto has already endured this year in light of April's deadly van attack, when a 25-year-old driver intentionally rammed into pedestrians along Yonge Street in North York, killing 10 people and injuring 16 more.

"Our son had severe mental health challenges, struggling with psychosis and depression his entire life".

"The teacher, who wishes to remain anonymous, says he was stunned by Hussain's comment, and asked him, "'Why, what did they do to you?'" "We stand by the victims, the fearless first responders and all the communities affected by this tragedy".

She also repeated her claim that she was under the influence of alcohol and sedatives at the time she posted the tweet. And I'm sorry for the misunderstanding that caused my ill-worded tweet. "I am sorry that you feel harmed and hurt".

It would also slap new restrictions on key economic sectors such as finance, energy, defense, and metals and mining. The bill requires the administration to come up with a plan to prevent interference from them and others.

"On Monday we didn't reopen to mourn the lives lost", Kilanis said.

Gun violence is nearly unheard of in the area and in Toronto, and the realization that a neighbor had gotten a handgun was deeply unsettling to many of Hussain's neighbors. It is not known whether he was shot, he killed himself. It is now illegal to possess an unregistered handgun or any kind of rapid-fire weapon. Gun ownership also requires training, a personal risk assessment, two references, spousal notification and criminal record checks.

Toronto Mayor John Tory called the shooting "evidence of a gun problem" in the city. It passed on a 41-4 vote.

Since the shooting, Demircan said he attended the vigil at the scene on Wednesday night, and plans to do more.

With a friend pulling him away and no time to think, Demircan says he ran away.

Danforth Avenue was filled with hundreds of people Wednesday night to honour the victims of Sunday's mass shooting.

Two of the victims, 10-year-old Julianna Kozis and 18-year-old Reese Fallon, died from their gunshot wounds.

Some hugged, some wept, and many said they wondered how the attacker obtained a gun in a country with far stricter gun laws than in the neighboring U.S. People signed a makeshift memorial reading: "We are Danforth strong".

I was just reminded that there is goodness in the world.
