Andy Murray has been drawn against Benoit Paire for a prospective grand slam return at Wimbledon, while defending champion Roger Federer will take on Dusan Lajovic in the first round.

But with just three matches under his belt since returning from almost 12 months on the sidelines he enters his home Grand Slam in a different mindset to any of his previous appearances at SW19.

Following his recent early exits from Queen's Championships and Eastbourne tournament, the Brit had said he wasn't fully sure if he would play at the All England Club.

"I've always loved that and enjoyed that in a way". It's just whether I feel like I'm able to do myself justice.

Edmund lost his quarter-final match 5-7 6-3 6-1 to Kazakhstan's Mikhail Kukushkin on Thursday.

Kyle Edmund goes into Wimbledon as the British number one (Steven Paston/PA). "I mean, through all of this, I have to view it very much day by day, just as a process", Murray told a press conference when asked if he had finally made a decision to play at Wimbledon.

"I'd like to be playing better". You notice things that are maybe not quite where you would like them to be or where you remember them being a year ago. Two weeks ago I practised with Kyle and I didn't win a game.

'I can't believe I'm missing this match, ' he smiled.

Could the USA be heading out of the WTO?
U.S. tariffs on $34 billion of Chinese goods are set to take effect on 6 July and a further $16 billion could follow. The US would also forfeit any ability to overturn unfair trade practices in the WTO dispute-settlement system.

He has practised for a long time already so I'm going to try to do my best and see how he is. "That's really positive for me as part of getting better, to compete again".

The 31-year-old Scot has played just three matches since making his comeback last week after 11 months on the sidelines.

Murray, who in 2013 ended Britain's 77-year wait for a Wimbledon men's singles champion, faces a tough route just to get to the second week, with fast-rising Canadian Denis Shapovalov and Juan Martin del Potro potential second and third round opponents.

Despite being "pumped" to be back Murray admits he will only know exactly how good his condition is after playing a best-of-five-set match.

During the chat with the journalists, Murray was more curious to know the score than answer the questions about his return and upcoming Wimbledon tournament.

"I need to be very mindful of how I'm feeling on a day-to-day basis".

Murray came through another practice session at the All England Club unscathed on Saturday, and said: "Unless in the next couple of days I wake up and don't feel good (I'll play)".
