In a big setback to India ahead of the England series, Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out for the T20Is.

All-rounder Krunal Pandya and Deepak Chahar have been called up to replace injured Washington Sundar and Jasprit Bumrah for India's T20I series against England. He suffered the injury during India's first T20I against Ireland. The duo has been rewarded for their good performance in the IPL.

The 25-year-old fast bowler from Rajasthan impressed one and all during IPL 2018, forming a lethal new-ball partnership with South African quick Lungi Ngidi for Chennai Super Kings.

Bumrah, a key death overs bowler, did not take part in the optional nets on Thursday and was benched for the second match on Friday.

Krunal Pandya has been picked up on the back of another strong season in the IPL in which he scored 228 runs in 13 innings with a strike rate of 145.2 and picked up 12 wickets in 14 games with an economy of 7. He subsequently underwent scans and was seen by a specialist.

As reported by Sportstar on Saturday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday made it official that Chahar-who is already in England with the India A tour - will join the national team for the shortest format of the game.

While Krunal and Deepak were included just for the T20 series, left-arm spinner Axar Patel has been named as Sundar's replacement for the three-match ODI series that starts in Nottingham on June 12.
