Man United prepare Harry Maguire-sized bid for Harry Maguire

Speaking at his first news conference as a Man City player, Mahrez said: "I have always believed that "H" (Harry Maguire) is a very good player, he has shown that since the day he came to Leicester and the season he had a year ago".

Maguire has featured in every one of England's six World Cup games and established himself as first choice under Gareth Southgate after a series of commendable displays.

He said: "We are different players - I was a playmaker and he is a winger who can play on the right or the left".

"I think he will do very well and the thought of Leroy Sane on wing and Riyad Mahrez on the other is very exciting - he will give Pep Guardiola more options in attack and it will be interesting to see the various attacking combinations City can use".

Mahrez, though, said he did not wish to discuss the frustrations of the January transfer window and rather set his sights on what he can achieve at Manchester City.

Maguire has been a stand out star at the World Cup after a fine season playing for the Foxes, and as arguably the only starting player from the England team who is likely to move this summer, a hefty price tag of £50-60m has been mentioned in the press.

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are expected to make a big move for the Leicester City centre back and would have to pay as much a £50 million for him.

Schnauer said he played "a small role" in the rescue efforts but the success of the operation showed what teamwork can achieve. The Canadian, speaking to Reuters a day after the rescue ended, said he had no plans to dive again anytime soon.

"After what they've done it's wonderful", Mahrez, 27, told a news conference. "Now we have to work and see what can happen".

After their title success, City are now striving to win the Champions League and that ambition was of huge appeal to Mahrez.

"Of course he deserves to play higher but Leicester are a good club as well, so it's him who has to decide and we will see".

"They have everything to try to win the Champions League. It's a good thing".

He said: "I'm very confident about myself and I hope to help this team to improve". It is a goal. I want to be part of this.

The Premier League outfit have been linked with a number of replacements in the form of City's Patrick Roberts and Lyon's Bertrand Traore, however Tuttosport have claimed they are now looking at Falque as a solution to their problems.
