Russia Responds to British Defense Minister's Novichok Accusation

A Bristol distillery has apologised for launching a vodka named Novichok a day before the substance killed victim Dawn Sturgess in Amesbury.

The police officer leading the investigation into the latest Novichok poisoning in the United Kingdom has said he does not know if it will ever be possible to establish a definitive link between the most recent poisoning and that of Sergei and Yulia Skripal last March.

Police are working to establish whether the Britons were exposed to the same poison used in the attack on the Skripals.

Charlie Rowley, 45, a heroin addict, regained consciousness yesterday at Salisbury district hospital, where doctors had seen a "small but significant improvement".

Chief Medical Officer Dame Sally Davies said people in the Amesbury and Salisbury area should not "pick up any foreign object which could contain liquid or gel, in the interests of their own safety".

When asked if Basu was looking for a "needle in a haystack" and he said, "That's why we need witnesses or intelligence", Sky News reports.

Britain and its allies blamed Russia for the attack on the Skripals, prompting a major Western expulsion of Russian diplomats.

Fearless France ready to show Belgium's Henry he picked wrong side
I think he's set to be the next big superstar as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are coming to the end of their careers. Excluding shootouts, France have lost just one of their last 13 games in the knockout rounds of the World Cup (W10 D2 L1).

Basu said Tuesday police have found no forensic link between the two cases, and it was possible that a link would never be established, the Guardian reports.

The wide investigation is now a homicide inquiry.

"I would love to be able to stand here and say how we have identified and caught those responsible and how we are absolutely certain there are no traces of nerve agent left anywhere in the county".

Head of counter-terrorism of the Metropolitan Police, Neil Basu, made the comments while holding a public meeting in the English town of Amesbury Tuesday, the Guardian reports. "Our focus and priority at this time is to identify and locate any container that we believe may be the source of the contamination". "We will not be providing further commentary around our contact with Charlie".

Ms Sturgess, 44, lived in Salisbury, and the couple had been in the city before going to Mr Rowley's flat in nearby Amesbury on Friday 29 June.

A vehicle seized by men in camouflage gear and gas masks belongs to a paramedic and RAF hero who treated Ms Sturgess, locals say. She had two sons, aged 19 and 23, and an 11-year-old daughter.

A tweet by police said, "the public should not be alarmed by this".
