One Mega Millions player has a reason to smile after a winning ticket for the $522 million jackpot was sold in the state of California.

The next drawing is Friday and the estimated jackpot is $40 million.

The winning numbers were 01-02-04-19-29.

Six tickets that were sold are with $1 million and at least two are worth $3 million.

To take home the entire $522 million, the victor would have to take an initial installment of $7.8 million, followed by 29 annual payments that increase each year.

The victor can either take the entire US$522 million in instalments or an immediate lump sum of US$308 million.
