Cleveland Browns: 3 impacts Corey Coleman trade has on team

Coleman played in nine games last season for the Browns, making eight starts.

The teams did not disclose what the Bills sent to the Browns, but ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the compensation Monday morning.

The team gave up a seventh-round pick in 2020 to acquire the former first rounder from the Cleveland Browns. The pick was part of the haul the Browns received from the Philadelphia Eagles in the trade for the second overall pick that same season (Carson Wentz).

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Corey Coleman (19) runs after a catch against the Pittsburgh Steelers in overtime at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. The Browns selected the Baylor product with the No. 15 pick in the 2016 draft.

Two hand injuries have kept Coleman out of 13 games through two seasons.

"We'll tell him how we do things here, what the expectations are".

For his career, Coleman has 56 receptions for just over 700 yards and five touchdowns.

The Bills made what they believe is a low-risk, high-reward deal to bring in wide receiver Corey Coleman.

Buffalo entered training camp with Kelvin Benjamin as its top receiver and questions down the rest of its depth chart.

Returning starter Zay Jones is coming off right knee and shoulder surgery and was cleared for practice for the first time Sunday. He also traded for quarterback Tyrod Taylor and used the No. 1 pick in this year's draft on Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield and the No. 4 pick on Ohio State cornerback Denzel Ward, the two players now tasked with breaking the Browns' first-round jinx.
