Giant Rogue Planet Wandering Outside Our Solar System Has Been Discovered

Mysterious gigantic rogue planet spotted lurking outside our solar system

The rogue body is almost large enough to be considered a gas giant planet and it offers researchers the opportunity to study these massive objects, shedding light on their magnetic realities. They call it a "rogue" planet because it has no orbit or it is not tethered to a parent star.

At 200 million years old and approximately 20 light-years from Earth, SIMP0136 has a surface temperature of about 1,500 degrees Fahrenheit (825 degrees Celsius).

"This object is right at the boundary between a planet and a brown dwarf, or 'failed star, ' and is giving us some surprises that can potentially help us understand magnetic processes on both stars and planets", Kao said in the statement. Brown dwarf planets are sometimes called "failed stars" because they're almost large enough for fusion to begin taking place in their core, but that's not even the most unique thing about this particular planet.

The scientists found that the object's magnetic field is more than 200 times stronger than Jupiter's, which, in turn, is between 16 and 54times stronger than Earth's, according to NASA.

And it's not just the magnetic mechanism that's leaving scientists with questions right now - there are plenty of other mysteries about the object, which scientists first discovered in 2016. They originally were thought to not emit radio waves, but in 2001 a VLA discovery of radio flaring in one revealed strong magnetic activity.

Brown dwarf masses are notoriously hard to measure, and at the time, SIMP0136 was thought to be an old and much more massive brown dwarf.

Pogba becoming increasingly frustrated at Manchester United
The France World Cup victor has been linked with a move to the Nou Camp amid speculation over his future at Old Trafford. His agent, Mino Raiola, is expected in Manchester this week to negotiate the transfer of Pogba out of Old Trafford.

New Mexico Officials: Remote Compound Searched, 11 Kids Removed
But the most unsafe encounter came when authorities tried to arrest the two men at the compound - Morten and Wahhaj. The women were detained, but later released, and the sheriff's office says they would not talk to investigators.

City beat Sarri’s Chelsea, win Community Shield
On the other hand, City had made 976 and 673 passes in their two games against Chelsea , while the season average was 743. Despite the return of several stars though, a number of youngsters should be starting against Chelsea .

The unusual object, called SIMP J01365663+0933473, has a magnetic field more than 200 times stronger than Jupiter's.

Zeroing in on this new find could lead to new techniques being developed to help search for alien worlds.

The planet is believed to have scorching surface temperatures of around 825C.

Auroras on Earth are created when charged particles from the Sun interact with Earth's magnetic field. This meant that the object was a free-floating planet. One rule of thumb in drawing the distinction is the mass below which fusion of deuterium is not possible - about 13 Jupiter masses. It is a component of the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO).

Studies that followed it demonstrated that certain brown dwarfs display strong auroras, similar to the ones seen in the Solar System's giant planets.
