Apple's 2018 iPad Pros will be slimmer and feature Face ID apparently

With the new design the company aims to trim down the bezels and feature a bigger display without the home button. Apart from the new iPhones, the Cupertino-based firm is also speculated to debut the new Apple Watch and an affordable MacBook Air. The iPhone X took the media by storm when it came out in Oct of 2017.it was all the rage and everyone wanted a glimpse of the new phone. For instance, Ben Geskin has been the first to report on the iPhone X before its launch past year.

Apple is launching three new iPhone this September while the mass production will start from this month. The upcoming 6.1-inch iPhone may have a bezel as thin as 0.5 millimeter. This is the same report that highlighted that the iPhone 9 will have slimmer bezels than the iPhone X from past year.

An upcoming budget-friendly iPhone may have a thinner bezel than the high-end iPhone X. This will make reducing part of the perimeter of the display of 10.5 - 12.9-inch devices. We have been a witness to a number of leks of these three models since the beginning of the year and now another image has appeared which shows the 6.1-inch and 6.5-inch iPhone dummy models.

If you're familiar with the design language of the iPhone X, nothing should be too surprising here.

Back in 2016, the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that he would expect an iPad Pro with Face ID "in the second half of 2018". Thus, the report states, that Apple may not release this variant of iPhone in September, but push it to November instead.

As noted, the new iPhones will borrow a lot of features from the iPhone X. One such feature is the Face ID technology. This time we have the first CAD images that help us understand the new placement of certain components. Additionally, there will be two microphones at the top and the reduced dimensions mean that the 3.5 mm headphone jack will be ditched for a Lightning-to-3.5 mm adapter. Both handsets are seen with a Notch. This year's iPhones may use the Sony IMX586 sensor in their camera, introduced only recently. This model might also come in a variety of colors while the pricier models will stick to Apples classics. There is no information on whether Apple is facing the same issue with the upcoming Pad Pro or it has made a decision to redesign it in order to align with the current bezel-less iPhones. Besides, Apple will be repositioning the Smart Connector to the lower rear of the device.

The new iPad Pro models will end up providing support for Face ID, but since they might not feature facial recognition in landscape mode, users will have to rely on their 6-digit passcode to gain access to their tablets. While the 6.1-inch iPhone is said to be backed by a single battery setup. The remaining two models are expected to boast OLEDs of 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch respectively.
